Overview
Kingston Wharves Limited operates multipurpose port terminal in the Caribbean. It engages in the operation of public wharves and logistics facilities.
The company also rents and repairs cold storage facilities; and provides security and property rental services. In addition, it offers verified gross mass services for full container load shipment; and transshipment services.
Its port terminal provides a range of cargo handling and logistics services, including mooring and unmooring of vessels; stevedoring; equipment rental; stripping and stuffing of containers; and storage and warehousing.
Problem
Kingston Wharves needed a network to support the new ultra-modern Total logistic hub that was built to support the Jamaican governments vision to create a global transhipment hub to fuel economic growth and development.
The project requirements included a local area network to support staff and encourage productivity by facilitating wired and wireless connectivity for servers and IoT devices. They also required a mesh Wi-Fi network providing ubiquitous access to tablet PCs and RFIDs used to maintain inventory tracking within the 160,000 Square feet all while keeping security at the forefront of the solution.
